Description
High Quality Proof 1895 Cent
1895 1C PR 66 Red PCGS. An undeniably original proof, both sides radiate crimson-orange luster. Deeper olive accents are also noted on both sides, particularly in the fields. We can find no hairlines or striking deficiencies that would call into question the assigned grade. The last three digits in the date have been repunched east. Snow (1992) states that this is a scarce die variety, and examples may have comprised only one third of this issue's original mintage. Population: 12 in 66, with only 3 finer (10/00).
From the Joshua Collection.
