Two-Sided Contrast
1897 1C PR67 Red PCGS. Undesignated cameo contrast is
apparent on each side of this Superb Gem proof. The strike is sharp
and the preservation is outstanding. Rich sun-orange interiors
transition to deeper cherry-red at the borders. The 1897 proof is a
rare issue this well-preserved and eye-appealing. Housed in an old
"rattler" holder. Population: 4 in 67 Red, 0 finer; 4 in 67 (1 in
67+) Red Cameo, 1 finer (9/17).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22AK, PCGS# 2380, Greysheet# 1656)
