1904 1C PR65 Red Cameo PCGS. This particular coin lacks the fine die finishing lines seen on many 1904 proofs, and while many coins possess these lines and they should not limit a coin's grade, for many collectors they do limit a coin's desirability. The fields are deeply mirrored and the margin around the obverse is cherry-red. The reverse, on the other hand, has a lovely orange-red, cherry-red, and lime-green iridescence. For quite some time this issue was unknown with a cameo effect, but there is significant field-to-device contrast noted on both sides of this piece. A very attractive example of this common proof Indian cent and very scarce with cameo contrast. Population: 5 in 65 Cameo, 3 finer (7/13).
