    1908 Indian Cent, PR67 Red
    Sole Finest Certified

1908 1C PR67 Red PCGS. Ex: Heathgate. Eagle Eye Photo Seal, card not included. Sharp, satiny devices provide subtle field-motif contrast on this highly reflective Superb Gem Red proof. The obverse is awash in vivid orange-red patina, while the reverse is more lightly toned in olive-gold hues. A couple of microscopic specks are mentioned for accuracy.

Population Data (3/15): This piece is the sole finest certified at either leading service in the Red color category. A small number of Cameo examples are known, none finer than PR66.

Heritage Commentary: The 1908 proof had a small mintage of 1,620 pieces and becomes decidedly scarce in Gem and finer grades. Such coins retaining full Red color are particularly elusive and in high demand.

Provenance: Heathgate Collection (Ira & Larry Goldberg, 2/2001), lot 1156.(Registry values: N4719)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22AX, PCGS# 2413)

    Weight: 3.11 grams

Metal: 95% Copper, 5% Tin and Zinc
