Description
1908 PR63 Indian Quarter Eagle
First Year of Issue
1908 $2 1/2 PR63 NGC. Proofs of this year are always a
popular item with collectors. Not only is it the first year of
issue for the reduced relief Indian design, and a low mintage date
with only 236 struck, but all proofs also have a distinctive and
quite lovely deep khaki color. The surfaces of this example are
attractive, although not quite perfect. A noticeable mar is seen in
the center of the reverse on the eagle's wing. This offering
represents a rare opportunity to purchase a matte proof Indian
quarter eagle at an affordable price.Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 9/2006), lot 3405.(Registry values: N4719)
