Description

1908 PR 63 PCGS. Proofs of this year are always a popular item with collectors. Not only is it the first year of issue for the incuse Indian design, and a low mintage date with only 236 proofs struck (many of which were melted), but all proofs also have a distinctive and quite lovely deep-khaki color. The surfaces are attractive, although not quite perfect. A couple of ancient contact-like marks show on the reverse field below AMERICA. A rare opportunity to purchase an attractive matte proof Indian quarter eagle at an affordable level.
