Description
Rare 1913 Quarter Eagle, PR58
Highly Attractive
1913 $2 1/2 PR58 PCGS Secure. The surface texture and finish
of the 1912 and 1913 proof quarter eagles display a fine sandblast
texture that reflects light with reflective microscopic facets.
This differs considerably from the darker matte finish of the 1911.
As a date, the 1913 proof is considered rare, with about 90
examples graded by PCGS and NGC combined, some of which are likely
resubmissions. The bright orange-gold surfaces of this PR58
specimen exhibit well defined design elements. Magnification brings
out a few unobtrusive marks in the left reverse field. This is a
highly attractive coin for a proof that has seen slight
circulation.(Registry values: N1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 289M, PCGS# 7962, GSID# 8624)
