Description
NGC 1915 PR 64. Final year of issue in the matte proof series of quarter eagles from 1908 to 1915 and considered by many to be the key date. From an original mintage of 100 coins, lower than any of the previous seven dates, the actual number of survivors is at most 50 pieces. The course grain matte surfaces are light in color and just a few trivial handling lines from gem quality. An important offering of 20th century proof gold.
