Description

1939 Reverse of 1940 Nickel, PR68+
The Sole Finest Certified

1939 5C Reverse of 1940, FS-901, PR68+ NGC. The Reverse of 1940 proof is significantly scarcer than the Reverse of 1938 variant, especially in high grade. Sharp, delineated steps on Monticello identifies this scarce hub type. NGC and PCGS combined list only eight examples of this issue in PR68, and of these, the present piece is the only one with a Plus designation; none are finer. Deeply reflective fields set off the sharp, satiny devices, and the preservation is virtually flawless. Census: 6 in 68 (1 in 68+), 0 finer (10/21).
