Splendid 1942-P Type Two Nickel, PR66 Cameo
1942-P 5C Type Two PR66 Cameo NGC. Cameo proofs of the 1936 to 1942 era are extremely elusive. The present Premium Gem Cameo proof wartime silver alloy example is untoned silver-gray throughout, and sharply struck as expected, with considerable contrast provided by frosty devices against the deeply mirrored fields. Both sides are immaculately preserved. Census: 1 in 66 Cameo, 4 finer (7/07).(Registry values: N208)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 27A4, Variety PCGS# 84180, Base PCGS# 4180, GSID# 3566)
