Description
1973-S Kennedy Half, PR70 Deep Cameo
First Year in the Clad Series for
Perfect Deep Cameo Proofs
1973-S 50C PR70 Deep Cameo PCGS. Clad Kennedy half proofs
get little respect -- many later-date such pieces graded PR69DCAM
are available for only a few dollars -- so it may come as a
surprise to collectors that some of the earliest clad proof issues
are a far different story. PCGS has certified only 66 1971-S half
dollars in PR69DCAM, with none in PR70DCAM. For 1972 there are 642
PR69DCAM pieces, but none in PR70DCAM. 1973 is the first year that
PR70DCAM pieces exist, 26 to be precise, with nearly 7,000 pieces
in PR69DCAM. A close examination of the surfaces expectedly fails
to reveal even the most minute distraction, although bidders might
appreciate the mention of a touch of gold color on the neck. A
must-have acquisition for the Registry Set collector or investor.
