    Description

Important 1829 Proof Cent--Pedigreed to the Frank Taylor Collection

1829 PR 64 Red and Brown PCGS. Large Letters. N-6, Low R.2 as a variety, High R.6 as a proof. EAC graded PR 61. This cent conforms to Newcomb's criteria for a proof in every respect with reflective fields and well struck except for very slight weakness on stars 1 and 10. Iridescent medium-light brown color with mint red around the devices, especially on the reverse, and steel-blue overtones. Identifiable by the following defects: behind the eye is a tiny nick, on the face is a vertical line of five very minute nicks, at the end of the leaf under F is a spot, and above the T in CENT is a smaller spot. A beautiful and very rare cent.
    Ex: Frank D. Taylor; Henry Chapman (June, 1908), lot 151. (NGC ID# 226R, PCGS# 1949)
