Description

1841 N-1 Cent, PR66 Brown
Proof-Only Variety
Ex: Oscar Pearl, Will Neil

1841 1C PR66 Brown PCGS. CAC. N-1, Low R.5. Among the more plentiful of the proof-only varieties in the late-date large cent series, with about 70 examples known. However, N-1 is rarely seen so fine with most survivors in the lower numerical grades. This satin Premium Gem proof has exquisite surfaces with lovely violet, blue, and sea-green patina on both sides, showing deeply faded original orange mint color, especially evident in the protected areas of the field near the devices. A remarkable, sharply defined proof cent, this piece ranks among the top five or six known of its kind. Our EAC grade PR63.
