Description

    1845 N-14 Cent, PR62 Red and Brown
    Only Struck in Proof Format

1845 1C PR62 Red and Brown NGC. N-14, High R.6. A rare proof-only variety. Slight die scratches on Liberty's jaw and on the rim near 12 o'clock identify the elusive N-14. Paired with the "standard" proof reverse of 1844 to 1849 with a rim die scratch near the E in UNITED. The luminous surfaces display ample peach-red along with blushes of lime-green on the central reverse and left obverse. The dies were likely slightly misaligned, since the right borders are well struck while other areas show incompleteness. No post-strike contact is consequential. Our EAC grade PR60.

The marketing was exceptional from the photos to the ads in Civil War Times and North South Trader for the cross over people!!! I have had many emails from my Civil War collecting fraternity that saw these and I saw them at the national show in Nashville/Franklin in early December.
