Rare Proof-Only Variety

1848 1C PR63 Brown NGC. N-19, Low R.6. Our EAC Grade PR53. Grellman Die State b. The base of the 1 appears repunched north. Standard proof cent reverse of the era with a rim die scratch past 9 o'clock. Mahogany-brown fields complement gunmetal-gray high points. This specimen boasts a full strike and no discernible carbon. Faint hairlines emerge beneath a loupe, most apparent near OF.
