1848 1C PR64+ Brown PCGS. CAC. N-19, Low R.6. A rare proof-only Newcomb variety, readily identified by the faint die line between Liberty's chin and the left base of the 1 in the date. This fully struck Choice proof displays apple-green and peach-gold undertones. Devoid of hairlines or spots. A few tiny trapped gas bubbles are present on the central reverse, as made.
