Description

1850 N-11 Cent, PR64 Brown
Only Seven Confirmed Proofs

1850 1C PR64 Brown PCGS. N-11, R.7 as a Proof. Denis Loring's proof large cent census records seven confirmed proofs of N-11, along with a single proof example of N-9. A few other proofs have appeared in old auction offerings, and they are likely earlier appearances of the same pieces that are known today. The obverse of this sharply detailed and fully mirrored example displays mostly sea-green toning with splashes of pale orange. The reverse is substantially similar pale orange, with delicate blue and violet. Loring assigns a net grade of PR55 due to myriad obverse spots, including a prominent spot over the 85 in the date. Our opinion of the EAC grade is PR58. Population: 2 in 64 Brown, 4 finer (11/15).
