1855 1C Slanted 55 PR65 Brown PCGS. N-11, Low R.6. Our EAC Grade
PR64. The die line within the N in ONE confirms the challenging
proof variety. A fully struck specimen with prominently reflective
fields. The deep brown surfaces reveal pleasing cherry-red,
sea-green, and lavender undertones when rotated under a light. As
of (12/13), PCGS has certified a total of 22 proof 1855 cents, a
mixture of N-10 and N-11. However, only 7 specimens have been
certified as 65 or finer: 3 in 65 Brown, 1 in 65 Red and Brown, 1
in 66 Brown, 1 in 66 Red and Brown, and 1 in 66+ Red and Brown.
