Description
Sharp 1857 N-3 Cent, PR65 Brown
1857 1C PR65 Brown PCGS. N-3, Low R.5. This proof-only Newcomb variety shows a curved line up to the right on the bust with a vertical line down from its right end, and the E in ONE has defects at its right top and under the serif of the crossbar. Variegated orange and sky-blue patina covers the obverse, ceding to sky-blue dominating on the reverse with purple and golden-brown accents. A well executed strike leaves crisp definition on all of the motifs. Nicely preserved throughout. EAC PR63.
