1857 N-5 Large Cent, PR65 Red and Brown
The Scarcer Proof Variety

1857 1C Small Date, N-5, High R.5, PR65 Red and Brown NGC. Five varieties of 1857 large cents are known, including N-3 and N-5 that were produced only as proofs. The N-5 is encountered less frequently than its N-3 counterpart. This bold Gem proof has full hair and leaf details with reflective surfaces that exhibit splendid blue, violet, and teal toning that accompanies red mint color. Census: 4 in 65 Red and Brown, 1 finer (2/25).
