Small Date, Proof-Only N-5

1857 1C Small Date PR65 Brown NGC. CAC. N-5, High R.5. The rarer of the two proof-only 1857 Small Date varieties. Newcomb-5 is attributed by a die lump on the right foot of the T in CENT. This is a razor-sharp Gem with outstanding preservation. The obverse is butter-gold with a hint of olive. The reverse is ocean-blue and lime-green. Our EAC grade PR62.(Registry values: P1)
