    Description

    Collectible 1902 Proof Double Eagle

1902 $20 PR58 NGC. A richly detailed representative that retains considerable reflective luster. The obverse is moderately abraded, while the reverse is relatively unmarked. Only 114 pieces were struck, as few contemporary numismatists could afford high denomination proofs. The high face value also caused numerous survivors to be spent during times of hardship, a fate which the present example briefly experienced.

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26EP, PCGS# 9118)

    Weight: 33.44 grams
