Desirable Gem Proof 1902 Twenty Dollar

1902 $20 PR 65 NGC. Of the 114 double eagle proofs issued for collectors in the second year of the new century (which is still technically in progress), recent estimates place the number of survivors in the range of 45 to 50 pieces. This watery, reddish-golden Gem shows the continuous brilliance that typifies the Mint's post-1901 proof production process. The fields have a remarkable depth of reflectivity and there are no mentionable hairlines or surface disturbances. Population: 2 in 65 (3 at PCGS), 1 finer (9/99).

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26EP, PCGS# 9118)

    Weight: 33.44 grams
