    Description

    Proof 1903 Liberty Twenty
    158 Pieces Struck

1903 $20 -- Surfaces Smoothed -- Genuine PCGS. Proof. The PCGS number ending in .98 suggests Damage as the reason, or one of the reasons, that PCGS deemed this coin not gradable. In our opinion, this coin has the details of a PR60 specimen that has had its surfaces smoothed. The 1903 proof Liberty double eagle enjoyed a mintage of 158 pieces, quite generous for proofs of that era. Probably only 40-50 examples are still extant and collectors prize examples in all grades. This piece displays deeply mirrored surfaces and sharply detailed devices.
