Description
1907 Liberty Twenty, PR60
Only 78 Examples Minted
1907 $20 PR60 ANACS. Only 78 proof Liberty double eagles
were struck in 1907, the last year of the venerable design.
Fortunately, the survival rate is fairly high, and perhaps 40-50
specimens remain extant in all grades. This attractive lemon-yellow
example displays razor-sharp definition on all design elements,
with only minor hairlines and contact marks in the fields. The
surfaces exhibit the brightly reflective, all-brilliant finish the
Mint employed on proofs of this era, with little of the
field-device contrast seen on the Cameo proofs of the 19th century.
This offering combines absolute rarity, intense visual appeal, and
the cachet of a final-date type coin.(Registry values: P1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26EV, PCGS# 9123, Greysheet# 10128)
