Description
NGC 1886 PR 65. A stunning white on black cameoed proof. This coin has it all: exceptional eye appeal, confirmed rarity, and tied for finest known status. If one were to look very closely a few very slight, wispy hairlines (not from cleaning) could be discerned, but these really have very little effect on the overall eye appeal of this marvelous coin. As stated, there is a stark cameo contrast on each side that gives the coin an immediate, but lasting, eye appeal. Of the 60 proofs struck in 1886 only 15 to 20 pieces are believed to exist still today. This piece is tied with one other PR 65 (certified by PCGS). A must-see coin for the advanced gold enthusiast.
