Rare Proof 1889 Ten Dollar
Mintage of 45 Pieces
1889 $10 -- Repaired -- PCGS Genuine. Proof, Unc. Details.
Only 45 proof 1889 tens were struck, a number of which were
eventually spent due to their high purchasing power during a time
of need. This fully struck and flashy lemon-gold specimen must have
been a formidable beauty when first delivered, despite a curly
lintmark beneath star 8. An area above the date is smoothed,
hairlined, partly laminated, and discolored white.(Registry values: P3)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 28FU, PCGS# 8829, Greysheet# 9684)
