Description
Desirable PR62 Deep Cameo 1892 Eagle
1892 $10 PR62 Deep Cameo PCGS. This proof issue's mintage of 72 pieces is high relative to its peers, though there are a number of circulated proofs in the population. The present specimen shows no rub on the high points or the mirrors, and though a number of hairlines are visible in the fields, the outstanding black-and-gold contrast offers redeeming eye appeal. The frost on the portrait is particularly rewarding. Overall, a desirable survivor of an issue only rarely found with Deep Cameo surfaces; this is the only PR62 Deep Cameo coin known to PCGS, and that service lists only one finer (4/09).(Registry values: P2)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 28FX, PCGS# 98832, Greysheet# 9695)
