Description

1894 Eagle, Cameo Select Proof
Mintage 43 Specimens

1894 $10 PR63 Cameo NGC. Mint records list just 43 specimens for this issue. Garrett and Guth point out the issue's relative rarity compared to the year before in several areas, including the mintage, certification events, and auction appearances. This is an impressively contrasted orange-gold Cameo coin with light patina over areas of the periphery and a series of grade-defining scuffs in the left obverse field. The specimen is highly appealing despite this fault. A semicircular lint mark at the back of Liberty's jaw may serve as a future pedigree marker. Census: 4 in 63 Cameo, 10 finer (11/12).
