Amazing 1904 Liberty Ten, PR64 Cameo

1904 $10 PR64 Cameo PCGS. CAC. Despite a considerable mintage of 108 proof 1904 eagles, relatively few have survived, with an actual population that is probably under 50 coins. Many that have survived are in lower grades. PCGS has only certified 42 examples, and just one is finer than PR64. NGC has certified another 36 coins, with only eight pieces better than PR64. The average grade of all 78 pieces is only PR62. Furthermore, of all 78 pieces, only four PCGS coins and 21 NGC coins have been designated as Cameo proofs, and none as Deep or Ultra Cameo proofs. Coins such as the present, nicely contrast and fully brilliant near-Gem are extremely rare. While the bright yellow surfaces have a few tiny contact marks and flakes, the eye appeal is exceptional.
