Description

Gem Proof 1906 Ten Dollar
Green Insert, Gold CAC Label

1906 $10 PR65 PCGS. CAC Gold Label. The green insert of this older PCGS holder, long a clue that a coin's grade might be understated, has backup in the form of a gold CAC sticker that indicates this "Gem" proof exceeds the consortium's standards for a PR65 survivor. Looking beyond the labels, this is a simply gorgeous coin with obvious cameo contrast on the obverse, where Liberty's lightly frosted and pale yellow portrait emerges from gleaming fields with a distinctly orange cast. A boldly struck beauty with memorable eye appeal that can slot into even the finest cabinet with ease. One of just 77 specimens struck for the year. Population: 5 in 65, 2 finer (11/12).(Registry values: P1)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 28GD, PCGS# 8846, Greysheet# 9735)

Weight: 16.72 grams

Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
