1907 Liberty Head Eagle, PR65 Cameo
Seldom Seen With Cameo Designation

1907 $10 PR65 Cameo NGC. CAC. The 1907 eagles were the last proofs of the denomination that the average collector could obtain until 1909, as the new Saint-Gaudens eagles dated 1907 were issued in proof format only to the extent of a tiny handful of pieces. It appears as though many collectors saved the last-year Liberty Head proofs, but they are nonetheless seldom seen with the Cameo designation. This piece displays yellow-gold surfaces with moderate but not intense field-device contrast. A tiny planchet flaw appears at the bottom of Liberty's throat, and another in the field
