    Description

Prized PR64 Cameo 1907 Half Eagle

1907 $5 PR64 Cameo PCGS. CAC. An unusual and distinctive Cameo specimen from the last proof date in the Liberty half eagle series, one of just 92 pieces struck. Like most brilliant-era Cameo coins, this piece is not thickly frosted on the devices, but considerable contrast exists between the mirror-fields and the minimally polished devices. A handful of small disturbances in the fields, including a contact to the left of Liberty's chin, contribute to the grade. A lovely piece that would make a fitting finisher to a challenging date set. Population: 5 in 64 Cameo, 4 finer (10/10).(Registry values: P1)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 28DD, PCGS# 88502)

    Weight: 8.36 grams

    Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
