    Description

Gem Quality 1907 Proof Half Eagle

1907 PR 65 Cameo NGC. Final year of production for the Liberty half eagle design and one of 92 proofs originally struck. It is estimated that just over half of that number, or 50-55 pieces, exist today. This is a solid gem specimen that, on all but the left side of the obverse, is layered in a natural, milky patina. While given the cameo designation, the field-to-device contrast here is really only nominal, as can be expected on proof gold issues from 1902-1907.

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 28DD, PCGS# 8502)

    Weight: 8.36 grams

    Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
