Description
Wonderful 1885 Liberty Nickel, PR67
1885 5C PR67 PCGS. The key date in the Liberty nickel series, although in business strike format, since the proof 1885 is no more elusive than any other date in the series--just in greater demand, to replace the elusive business strikes. This wonderful Superb Gem proof boasts an incredibly strong strike, with needle-sharp detail in the hair and obverse stars, and throughout the wreath on the reverse. Couple that with superlative luster and a near-cameo appearance, then add glints of olive, gold, pink, and ice-blue. Simply a wonderful coin. Population: 15 in 67, 1 finer (8/08).
