Description

1896 Five Cent, PR66 Cameo
Sharply Struck, Bold Contrast

1896 5C PR66 Cameo PCGS. CAC. The frosted central motifs contrast boldly with mirrorlike fields despite, translucent patina of attractive, clear-gold and pale-lilac shades. The strike is razor-sharp on the left ear of corn, the obverse star centers, and nearly so on Liberty's hair strands. Only a handful of finer examples could possibly exist in terms of surface quality and eye appeal. CAC endorsed. Population: 19 in 66 (1 in 66+) Cameo, 3 finer (9/15).(Registry values: N1793)
