Description
1898 5C Liberty Nickel PR65 NGC. A well struck and moderately toned representative. 1898 was the lowest mintage issue up to that point in the series, which suggests there were fewer advanced collectors that year than in the 20 preceding years. Interest may also have waned due to the designs of Charles Barber, which served commerce well but sometimes failed to inspire contemporary collectors.(Registry values: N991)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2788, PCGS# 3896, Greysheet# 3030)
