Description

1901 Nickel, PR67 Cameo
Among the Finest Certified, CAC

1901 5C JD-1, Low R.3, PR67 Cameo PCGS. CAC. The Mint produced 1,985 Liberty nickel proofs in 1901 and curiously utilized five die sets throughout the issue. This example is one of the scarce Cameo proofs from the JD-1 die marriage. The mostly brilliant surfaces of this exceptional Superb Gem display wisps of champagne along the edges. Stark black-on-white contrast is achieved through the richly frosted devices against intensely deep fields. CAC endorsed. PCGS reports no numerically finer Cameo pieces (3/26).
