Description

1911 Liberty Nickel, PR67 Cameo
White-on-Black Contrast

1911 5C JD-1, R.1, PR67 Cameo PCGS. The 1911 has a proof mintage of 1,733 pieces, a low figure for the Liberty nickel type. Only the 1906 through 1908 have lower proof productions. The present brilliant specimen is a remarkable Superb Gem that boasts blatant contrast between the glittering fields and the frosty devices. A slight diminishing of the frost on Liberty's cheek precludes Deep Cameo status. Immaculate save for a solitary field hairline below the chin. PCGS Population: 47 in 67 (26 in 67+) Cameo, 1 finer (12/25).
From The Smithlund Collection.
