Description
Superb 1884 Proof Two-and-a-Half--Tied For Finest Certified
1884 PR 66 Cameo NGC. A rare issue as a proof and seldom encountered in better grades when found. Of the 73 proofs produced, it is estimated that no more than 30 exist today in all grades. This piece is tied for finest certified by both services. It is a visually stunning coin whose deeply reflective fields show evidence of heavy die polishing, with faint striations seen in the fields, similar to the proof 1883 above. The hazy devices have a fair amount of frost on them, providing a moderate white-on-black cameoed appearance.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2887, PCGS# 7910, GSID# 8531)
