Description
Affordable 1884 Proof Quarter Eagle
1884 PR 58 PCGS. A rare issue as only 73 proofs were originally produced. It is estimated that no more than 30 exist today in all grades. Unfortunately, this piece entered circulation for a short amount of time, thus the PR 58 designation. Obviously a product of proof production, the fields still show a deeply mirrored effect although there are a number of tiny marks and hairlines on each side. The devices are deeply frosted and a cameo appearance is still noticed. An affordable piece of proof gold.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2887, PCGS# 7910, GSID# 8531)
