Description
Glorious Cameo Proof 1890 Quarter Eagle
1890 $2 1/2 PR66 Cameo NGC. An irresistible two-toned specimen with heavily frosted features that boldly stand out from glassy, nearly blemish-free fields. Minute unfinished areas about the portrait are most noticeable beneath Liberty's chin. From a paltry mintage of 93 proofs, it is doubtful that more than 50-60 pieces are extant today. Population data would suggest that only a handful have survived in such a superlative state of preservation.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 288D, PCGS# 87916, GSID# 8550)
