1890 $2 1/2 PR60 NGC. Philadelphia produced just 93 proof quarter eagles in 1890, and experts estimate that fewer than half of those pieces survive in any grade today. Though the honey-gold fields of this specimen display numerous hairlines and scattered contact marks, the mirrors remain strong, and the devices exhibit the sharp detail of a proof.
