Description
Milky, Gem Quality 1892 Cameo Proof Quarter Eagle
1892 PR 66 Cameo NGC. A milky patina rests atop both sides and subdues both the reflective qualities of the fields and the contrast with the devices. Production of proof quarter eagles was raised to 105 pieces in 1892 and this slight increase in mintage has resulted in a few more survivors than in previous years, perhaps as many as 55-60 pieces. Most of those, however, are inferior to this nicely preserved specimen.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 288F, PCGS# 7918, GSID# 8555)
