Description
Desirable PR 66 Cameo 1893 Quarter Eagle
1893 PR 66 Cameo NGC. Wondrously original, with beginnings of delicate reddish-violet patina about the margins. A small area of discoloration, perhaps only lack of patina, is located behind Liberty's neck. The frosted nature of the devices clearly stands out from the mirror-like fields. Proofs were struck in similar numbers, 106 pieces, than the preceding year and survivors probably number between 50 to 55 coins. Few could match this example for beauty and originality.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 288G, PCGS# 7919, GSID# 8558)
