1894--Cleaned--PR 60 ANACS. Of the 122 proof quarter eagles of this date produced for collectors, fewer than half remain today. Also, as a business strike, 1894 is a better date in the series with only 4,000 pieces struck. While this bright, watery example is not one of the finer proofs known, the extensively hairlined surfaces will present some lucky collector with the opportunity to acquire this still flashy specimen at an affordable price.
