Description
1898 Quarter Eagle, PR66+ Deep Cameo
Just 10 Finer at PCGS
1898 $2 1/2 JD-1, R.4, PR66+ Deep Cameo PCGS. CAC. Mirrored
fields are contrasted significantly with yellow-gold surfaces, and
as the grade suggests, contain virtually no abrasions. The striking
detail is exquisite, with no mentionable weakness. The 1898 proof
quarter eagle's mintage of 165 coins was the highest up to that
point in a series that peaked in terms of both Cameo quality and
mintage figures in 1900, just two years after this coin was
produced. Deep Cameo certifications comprise just 33.6% of PCGS's
totals, and few best the present offering. PCGS Population: 4 in
66+ Deep Cameo, 10 finer (3/26). CAC: 7 in 66, 8 finer (3/26).Coin Index Numbers: (Variety PCGS# 106454, Base PCGS# 97924)
