1899 Quarter Eagle, PR62 Deep Cameo
1899 $2 1/2 PR62 Deep Cameo PCGS. CAC. The proof gold coins of the late 1890s are known to be some of the most well-produced, and they are quite popular with collectors for that reason as well as the piquancy of the 19th-century dating. This piece is one of only 150 pieces produced, and the population data are wildly skewed because of resubmissions. The surfaces exhibit pretty canary-yellow color with deep contrast. The few small pecks and ticks are mostly seen with a glass and undisturbing.
