Description

1899 PR 65 Heavy Cameo ANACS. The first of two cameo proofs of this turn-of-the century issue. It has been estimated that between 60 and 70 pieces survive today and are recognizable still as proofs. The fields are deeply mirrored and go "black" when angled just so beneath a light. The devices are heavily frosted and seem to float above the deep, liquid pools of reflectivity on each side. Just a few small imperfections account for the grade on this solid gem proof.
