Choice Cameo Proof 1900 Quarter Eagle
1900 $2 1/2 PR64 Cameo NGC. CAC. The radiant devices provide dramatic contrast with the darkly mirrored fields. The strike is remarkable, with full detail on the hair above the ear and on the eagle's legs. Since the eye appeal is formidable and there are no post-strike abrasions, the grade must be limited only by a pair of curly mint-made obverse lintmark, which are found near stars 2 and 12. Proof gold has long been regarded as "the caviar of numismatics," and the present gorgeous specimen provides further supporting evidence for such a statement.(Registry values: P1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 288P, PCGS# 87926, GSID# 8580)
